The ACS Pacesetters Security Officer of Distinction Awards Lunch

Preparations for The ACS Pacesetters Security Officer of Distinction Awards Lunch, which is taking place at Royal Windsor Racecourse 23rd May 2018, are well under way.   Almost 50% of our members having already confirmed their attendance and invited their clients to join them at this annual event.

We have received many nominations for the Security Officer of Distinctions Awards and would remind our members the deadline for submission is 13th April 2018.

We are delighted to have 8 organisations sponsoring the event this year, which includes Security Drivers International, TrackTik, The Security Institute, Experian, Broadstone-Engage, Eurotech Monitoring, Sutton Specialist Risks and Centralus PLC.  We really appreciate their support and without them we would be unable to hold this event.

We are also honoured to have 2 guest speakers who will also be presenting the awards to the individual security officers.  Rick Mounfield CSyP FSyI, Chief Executive of The Security Institute and Paul ‘Tug’ Hartley GM who was awarded the George Medal for actions in Afghanistan whilst serving with 3 Para, the story of Tug and his colleagues has been made into a film ‘Kajaki the true story’.

Our chosen charity for 2018 is Veterans in Action, a small armed forces charity based in Andover, which helps those who have suffered the effects of war or who have found the transition to civilian life difficult. VIA take a non-therapy approach and instead use the outdoors, adventurous activities, expeditions and centre-based projects to help rebuild the confidence, self-esteem and self-belief of those who suffer.  We will be holding a charity raffle with all proceeds going to this worthwhile cause.

As always, we are looking forward to meeting our members, their clients, industry colleagues and most importantly the outstanding Security Officers who will in receipt of the ‘Security Officer of Distinction Awards’.
