At the end of September 2012 the number of SIA Approved Contractor companies had increased to a total of 744 employing more than 135,500 licensed operatives between them.
It is interesting that of the 744 companies only 60 (8%) are represented in the large category employing in excess of 250 employees. The remaining 3 ACS categories are reasonably evenly spread with 209 micro companies (between 1 and 10 employees), 220 small companies (between 11 and 25 employees) and 255 medium companies (between 26 and 250 employees).
It is recorded that 5 companies either lost their ACS status or failed to renew the accreditation in September; however, the overall renewal rate is 97%.
